The Poly Blackwire 8225 USB-C Headset (772K4AA) is a professional on-ear stereo headset designed for business communications, unified communications and open-office environments. It combines hybrid active noise cancellation, Acoustic Fence microphone noise cancellation, SoundGuard Digital acoustic protection and convenient inline controls in a wired USB Type-C design.
The hybrid active noise cancellation (ANC) system helps reduce unwanted ambient sound, allowing users to focus on calls and other audio. Three selectable ANC settings — Off, Low and High — allow users to adjust the level of environmental noise reduction according to their surroundings.
The integrated Acoustic Fence microphone noise cancellation helps reduce surrounding noise while capturing the user’s voice. The noise-cancelling microphone provides a frequency bandwidth of 100Hz–10kHz, supporting clear voice transmission during business calls and online meetings.
For listening, the Blackwire 8225 features a 32mm speaker. It provides a 200Hz–6.8kHz bandwidth in speech mode and a broader 20Hz–20kHz bandwidth in media mode, making it suitable for both voice communications and multimedia playback.
SoundGuard Digital acoustic protection technology helps protect users against potentially excessive audio levels. The technology includes protection against acoustic shock and helps manage average daily sound exposure when supported Poly software features are enabled.
The headset uses a wired USB Type-C connection for direct PC connectivity. It can connect to compatible PCs through a USB Type-C port or through a supported USB Type-C/USB-A adapter. This wired configuration eliminates the need for battery charging and provides a dependable connection for professional communications.
The integrated inline control module provides convenient access to call answer/end, mute and volume controls. Users can also adjust the ANC level directly from the inline controls, making frequently used functions readily accessible without navigating through software.
The on-ear stereo design uses artificial-leather ear cushions and a lightweight construction. The headset weighs approximately 185g with cable and features adjustable positioning with 180-degree pivoting speakers for a customised fit.
