The Dell PowerEdge R550 Rack Server is a 2U dual-socket server designed for small and medium-sized business infrastructure, lightweight virtualization, file and application workloads, and storage-intensive deployments. This configuration combines an Intel Xeon Silver 4310 processor with 16GB DDR4 RDIMM memory, 4TB SAS 12Gbps storage, a Dell PERC H745 RAID controller and an 8-bay 3.5-inch SAS/SATA chassis.
Powered by the Intel Xeon Silver 4310, the R550 provides 12 cores and 24 threads with a 2.10GHz base frequency, up to 3.30GHz turbo frequency and 18MB cache. The server uses enterprise-grade ECC registered DDR4 memory, providing a reliable foundation for business applications, infrastructure services and virtualization workloads.
Storage is provided by 4TB SAS 12Gbps storage in the R550’s 8 × 3.5-inch SAS/SATA hot-plug drive-bay configuration. The PERC H745 RAID controller provides hardware-based storage management, while iDRAC9 Enterprise enables advanced remote administration. Dual 700W redundant hot-plug power supplies provide power resilience for supported operating environments.
